Sylvia Zamsky
Postpartum Doula, Circle Facilitator, Space Holder, Future Music Therapist
Sylvia’s journey of supporting parents and their little ones began early, through her work in music, education, and healing modalities. After becoming a mother during the pandemic in 2020, and enduring a deeply traumatic birth experience, she experienced firsthand the significant gaps in postpartum care in society. Determined to challenge & transform this “norm,” she embarked on a mission to make a difference by becoming a postpartum doula and birthed a new idea, founding Mother the Mamas.
While providing one-on-one care, Sylvia witnessed how the essential element of a village—a truly supportive community—was still missing. To tend to this need, she began hosting motherhood circles in her home, holding a more intimate space for deep & meaningful human to human connections.
In parallel, Sylvia is pursuing a master’s degree in music therapy, integrating her passion for healing through the creative arts into her doula work. She incorporates sound baths, drum circles, and other forms of healing arts to nurture mothers at every stage of their journey.
Rooted in her Israeli and French-Moroccan heritage, Sylvia’s home-cooked meals are also a cornerstone of her circles and sessions, nourishing not only the body but also the soul. Her holistic approach is driven by a commitment to supporting mothers—mind, heart, and tummy—while creating spaces where they feel truly seen, heard, and cared for.
Philosophy & Approach to Postpartum Care
At Mother the Mamas, I bring a deeply personal approach to all my services. Whether you’re joining a circle in my home or receiving postpartum care in yours, I focus on creating a connection that feels like working with your best mama friend—someone who will cheer you on and hold you when you need it most. And in the concrete ways, I prioritize nurturing you through nutrient dense food, healing & restorative touch, emotional connection, and support.
For me, this work is so much more than a business. It’s about human-to-human and mother-to-mother connection, built on trust, care, and mutual respect.
